I’ve had a few things going on this week so it’s a slightly more compact version of Dodgy Picks than usual. No drop in quality though, the tunes here are as good as any of the previous stuff I’ve been shouting about for the last few months. Plus there’s technically three free downloads this week so there’s no shortage of tunes either.
I’m always on the look out for more music to share. Drop me a line via the contact form if you know of anything like the tunes below that you think is worth a listen.
Cesco – Flump

“Flump” is my choice pick from “The Francesco EP” by Cesco. It’s an addictive little 2-step garage bump bolstered with an unusual bass line which is what makes it so appealing to me.
Released by Pineapple Records from Bristol, have a browse through their catalogue for all kinds of good stuff (I also like the style of the artwork on each release).
Sikka Presents – Jungle Tekno Vol 2

I’m picking out one of my older Bandcamp purchases here as this is an EP I’ve been making a return trip to recently.
Two cracking tracks here from Danny Darkovski (great name btw). The first track, Outer Edge, is the busier of the two. I particularly like the sci-fi style screeching stabs that fly around the track once it kicks off. Track two is the slightly deeper “Devine Temper’ featuring a co-credit with Sikka. You’ll find growling basses and chopped up classic breaks to get stuck into on in this one.
Neekeetone – Jungle Edits 5 (Name Your Price Download)

I’ve only recently discovered Neekeetone on Bandcamp, these are my key takeaways.
- He has a rather splendid moustache
- He has an INSANE amount of quality stuff on Bandcamp
I’m a sucker for a cheeky bootleg and Jungle Edits 5 has three of them to enjoy. Plus, it’s a nice gateway to the other treats on Neekeetone’s Bandcamp profile. As well as Jungle bangers, Neekeetone also has a number of original productions, some inspired dub & garage reworks of well known tunes and some hefty looking sample packs. All good stuff.
Be sure to check out other tunes I’ve recommended, take a look at my previous Dodgy Picks.
There’s also all the stuff I’ve made on my Discography page including my most recent release “Ignition Sequence”.
If you have a tune on BandCamp that’s along the lines of Breakbeat / Rave / Drum n Bass / Old Skool / Techno etc. and you’d like to submit it for a possible recommendation, feel free to drop me a line.
