I haven’t complied a “Dodgy Picks” post for a few weeks. I’ve been busy finishing off a new tune and releasing it on Bandcamp.
If you missed it, it’s called “Ignition Sequence” and it’s a liquid-style drum and bass tune with melodic synths and NASA ground control samples. It’s only on Bandcamp and it’s going to stay that way because in my opinion streaming is a rigged game in favour of the big labels. People like me have no chance.
Anyway, enough belly-aching about the system and “The Man”. Let’s get on with the tunes.
DJ Hybrid – Jungle Man

DJ Hybrid has appeared in a previous Dodgy Picks post via a free download EP which I highly recommended.
As the title suggests, “Jungle Man” comes packed with all kinds of jungle flavours, classic breaks, ragga vocal, sub bass, all the good stuff. All pinned together with a synth-based percussion riff.
Anthony Kasper – Nothing More Nothing Less

Anthony Kasper, more commonly known by just his surname, is a Minneapolis based producer and DJ.
“Nothing More Nothing Less” is an exceptional package. Blending a soulful side in the intro (thanks to a nicely deployed vocal sample) and a more ruffer feel once it launches into the razor sharp breakbeats and deep bass.
DJ Sofa – Love Hurts

Whenever I see DJ Sofa pop up in my Bandcamp notifications I always know it’s going to be something worth checking out.
Once again the goods are delivered in the form of “Love Hurts”. Some strong ’94 vibes going on here, particularly in that big gnarly Dred Bass style bassline.
Coco Bryce – Valentine’s Selection (Free Download)

A little bit late here with regards to Valentine’s day and I couldn’t wait until next year to share this because it is an insane amount of tuneage.
This is a 50-track collection that runs through various genres from Hip-Hop through through to Breakbeat and Drum and Bass, and it’s all available at a “name your price” cost.
Be sure to check out other tunes I’ve recommended, take a look at my previous Dodgy Picks.
There’s also all the stuff I’ve made on my Discography page.
If you have a tune on BandCamp that’s along the lines of Breakbeat / Rave / Drum n Bass / Old Skool / Techno etc. and you’d like to submit it for a possible recommendation, feel free to drop me a line.
You can also follow me online via various social networks (apart from stinky ass Twitter).
